Electromagnetic-wave while-drilling measurement device with high-strength drill rods for soft coal seams, cable-free high-rate data transmission and DGS Workbench software.
The Mining While-Drilling Measurement Device (Electromagnetic Wave) is specially designed for drilling in soft coal seams, with high-strength drill rods able to withstand greater torque and pullback forces under harsh conditions such as hole collapse and sticking. It uses electromagnetic-wave signal transmission for high data rate and stable communication with DGS Workbench software.
Soft coal seams present some of the hardest conditions in drilling: hole collapse, sticking, strong torque and heavy pullback forces that strain both the drill string and the measurement tooling. The Mining While-Drilling Measurement Device (Electromagnetic Wave) is specially designed for drilling in soft coal seams, using high-strength drill rods able to withstand greater torque and pullback forces in these harsh conditions.
The device transmits measurement data by electromagnetic wave, which eliminates dependence on traditional cable drill rods. This simplifies the drilling tool assembly and reduces the faults associated with cable drill rods — such as cable damage or poor connections — that are especially likely when the string is twisted and pulled in unstable ground. Electromagnetic-wave transmission provides a high data rate, short measurement time and stable communication, so the driller continues to receive reliable inclination, azimuth and tool-face data even in difficult hole conditions.
The device is supported by the DGS Workbench software for measurement and control, providing a consistent workflow for borehole trajectory management. By combining rugged mechanical design for soft-seam conditions with cable-free electromagnetic communication, the device gives mines a dependable measurement platform where drilling is hardest.
