Online oil wear particle sensor using micro-magnetic induction to detect ferromagnetic debris in real time, enabling early fault discovery and predictive maintenance for rotating machinery.
The Oil Metal Wear Particle Sensor is an intelligent online sensor for mechanical wear monitoring. Its proprietary micro-magnetic induction technology is highly sensitive to changes in ferromagnetic wear particles in oil, continuously and accurately capturing wear-particle content to assess equipment status in real time. This supports early fault discovery and predictive maintenance decisions for rotating machinery.
The debris that metals shed as they wear tells a story about the condition of the machinery inside. The Oil Metal Wear Particle Sensor reads that story continuously. Built around proprietary micro-magnetic induction technology, it detects ferromagnetic wear particles suspended in the oil — the debris of gears, bearings, shafts and other load-carrying surfaces — with sensitivity to changes in particle concentration that is difficult to achieve with traditional filter or sample-based methods.
As an intelligent online sensor, it eliminates the sampling lag of laboratory oil analysis. The sensor is installed in the lubrication circuit and reports wear-particle content in real time, so an abnormal wear event — a sudden spike in ferrous debris from a failing bearing or a chipped gear tooth — is visible the moment it begins. Early detection at this stage is what allows maintenance to intervene during planned downtime instead of after catastrophic failure.
For rotating machinery, this data is combineable with other condition signals: a rising wear-particle trend combined with a new vibration signature gives maintenance engineers a diagnosis rather than a mystery. By providing continuous, quantitative wear data, the sensor turns oil analysis into a predictive-maintenance input that can be acted on in real time.
